Beyond Catalonia is a documentary series that attempts to explain some of the main independence movements in Europe, and some of the lesser-known ones. This episode focuses on Veneto, in Italy. The affluent north, with its industrial cities and lush landscapes, is often caught in a tug-of-war between local pride and national unity. Movements such us Lega Nord have rallied behind the banner of autonomy, fueled by the belief that their economic contributions deserve greater recognition.
