Beyond Catalonia is a documentary series that attempts to explain some of the main independence movements in Europe, and some of the lesser-known ones. This episode focuses on Corsica, a Mediterranean island that has been under the rule of various foreign powers before succumbing to French control in the 18th century. The islands' fierce desire for autonomy and rugged landscape have fostered a spirit of resistance that has even led to armed movements toward self-determination over the years.
